After the US and allies warned of a possible IS attack at Kabul Airport, the city was shocked with back to back two bombings that left 13 dead. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when many were rushing to flee the country.
The second blast occurred at a hotel that was reserved for the US Military, the officials said. The videos on social media show dead bodies lying on the floor, with bloodshed scenes everywhere. It shows dead bodies pilled up over others. As the videos show at least 15 to 20 bodies, however, Taliban officials have so far only declared 13 casualties.
The disturbing images across social media soon went life after the first bombing. It is expected that the first explosion was a “suicide attack”. The ground reports suggest the damages are much greater than the initial impressions.
On Thursday morning, the United States and its allies had warned of an ISIS attack on the Kabul Airport; they had cautioned people and asked the public to stay away from the airport. ISIS and the Taliban are both rivals.
People had been desperately attempting to leave Afghanistan after the Taliban seized power and the Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani escaped.
