Kabul: 19 killed, 43 injured in back to back two explosions

At least 19 people have been killed and 43 injured as two explosions, followed by gunfire, hit Afghanistan’s largest military hospital in the capital, Kabul, Interior Ministry sources told Al Jazeera on Tuesday.

Some government spokespersons told media that several gunshots were heard near the military hospital in Kabul.

Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, told reporters that at least two explosions at the entrance of the 400-bed hospital in Kabul’s 10th witnesses told Al Jazeera it was a car bomb.

“Security forces are deployed in the area, there is no information about victims,” ​​declared

 Interior Ministry spokesman Saeed Khosty stated some people were killed in the blasts, however he didn’t clear the exact toll.

Photos shared by residents showed a plume of steam following the explosions in the former diplomatic zone in the Wazir Akbar Khan region in central Kabul.

No terrorist group took the responsibility for the heneious attack, howeever, official Bakhtar News agency declared that some witnesses 

said that a number of fighters from an ISIL (ISIS) associate, came to the hospital and fought with security forces.

The explosions add to a growing list of attacks and killings since the Taliban ended its victory over the previous Western-backed adminstration in August, undermining its demand to restore security in Afghanistan after decades of war.
