Transport officials have confirmed that additional rail services would be available for those making the trip to London to honour the Queen. On some routes, limited service will be available overnight.

From Wednesday, when the public can attend the lying-in-state in Westminster Hall beginning at 17:00 BST, demand is anticipated to be very high.

During the time of grief, the Rail Delivery Group stated that it was doing “everything it can” to ensure seamless travel.

Customers were advised by the trade group that represents train companies to consult travel planners for the most recent information.

The public will be able to visit the casket of the Queen, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, for four full days at Westminster Hall before her funeral.

Millions, if not hundreds of thousands, are anticipated to visit the capital. The Rail Delivery Group predicted that as a result, services to and from London’s stations will be “very busy.”

It has advised travellers to allow plenty of time for travel during the official mourning period, which ends on Monday, September 19, the day of the Queen’s state burial.

There are measures, according to Transport for London and Network Rail, to make sure people can travel “as easily as possible.”

Sir Peter Hendy, chairman of Network Rail, stated that “the transportation industry is working hard to help people pay their respects in London and around the United Kingdom.”

Please make sure to verify before you travel because we anticipate heavy traffic on the roads and in the transportation systems.

In contrast to a reduced schedule that could be in effect on a typical bank holiday, Network Rail stated that a regular timetable would be in effect on the day of the funeral, along with some additional services.

The London Underground’s normal trains are scheduled, but according to TfL’s transport commissioner Andy Byford, “there may be short notice modifications and diversions as a result of the enormous number of people travelling and essential road closures.”

According to TfL, some subterranean stations may experience more than usual traffic, and there may be some disruption as a result of the temporary closure of some stations or the alteration of regular routes in and around stations.

People have been advised to use other tube stations instead of Green Park, such as Victoria, Piccadilly Circus, and St. James’ Park, if at all possible.
