The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Thursday that its forces struck more than 160 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon in the past day, citing significant strategic gains in the ongoing conflict.
Among the key developments was the apprehension of over 200 terrorists from the Gaza Strip, according to military sources.
IDF’s intensified operations in Lebanon included targeted ground raids, which resulted in the elimination of dozens of Hezbollah fighters.
The military noted that 20 of these fatalities occurred within the last 24 hours, demonstrating the escalating confrontation along Israel’s northern front.
During these operations, IDF troops uncovered Hezbollah living quarters and an extensive array of weaponry, including AK-47 assault rifles and shoulder-fired missiles, found within a residence in southern Lebanon.
In addition to the raids, the soldiers also located several weapons storage facilities containing a wide assortment of munitions.
These included hundreds of anti-tank missiles, mortar shells, missile launchers, explosives, and other materials used in combat. The IDF stated that the destruction of these caches would significantly diminish Hezbollah’s operational capabilities in the region.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) also played a pivotal role in the latest military efforts, conducting airstrikes that targeted multiple terrorist cells in Lebanon.
The ongoing conflict has seen a rise in the frequency and scale of such air operations, aimed at neutralizing perceived threats from Hezbollah.
Southern Front Developments
Meanwhile, the IDF reported successful operations on the southern front, where the military has been engaged in a protracted conflict with the Hamas terrorist group for over a year.
The 162nd Division has been actively operating in the Jabaliya area, where soldiers have dismantled numerous terrorist infrastructures and eliminated dozens of combatants.
The military emphasized that efforts were made to evacuate civilians to safer areas, despite what it described as attempts by Hamas to hinder these evacuations.
The ongoing operation in the area resulted not only in the apprehension of over 200 militants but also the discovery and dismantling of weapons caches containing AK-47s, launchers, and explosives.
On Wednesday, IDF artillery targeted several terrorist infrastructure sites in the central Gaza Strip, marking the continuation of a broader military strategy aimed at suppressing threats along Israel’s borders.
The IDF stated that these actions were necessary to address ongoing security challenges and reduce the operational capacity of both Hamas and Hezbollah.
As the military campaign intensifies on multiple fronts, Israeli forces remain vigilant in both Lebanon and Gaza, aiming to neutralize threats and safeguard the region against further escalation.
