On Wednesday night, Israeli security forces arrested a suspect involved in a car-ramming attack against IDF soldiers in the West Bank, near the settlement of Modi’in Illit, according to an official statement from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

The suspected assailant was apprehended in the vicinity of Dayr Qadis, a village located near the scene of the attack, after a coordinated effort by the IDF, the Israel Police, and the Shin Bet (ISA).

The attack occurred earlier in the day when a vehicle approached a security checkpoint at Dayr Qadis, where the driver deliberately rammed into two IDF soldiers.

The soldiers, who sustained minor injuries, were immediately provided with medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene following the attack, prompting a swift response from Israeli security forces.

Security personnel from the IDF and the Israeli Police quickly surrounded the area around Dayr Qadis, launching an operation to track down and apprehend the suspect.

Within hours, the individual was arrested and transferred for further questioning. The IDF confirmed that the suspect was not previously known to security forces, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.

This incident adds to a series of recent tensions in the West Bank, where sporadic violence has flared up between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.

While the IDF has not yet confirmed whether the attack was part of a broader planned operation or an isolated act, the swift arrest underscores the heightened vigilance of Israeli security forces in the region.

Israeli officials have reiterated their commitment to countering terrorism and ensuring the safety of both military personnel and civilians in the West Bank. “We will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice,” said a spokesperson for the IDF.

This attack is the latest in a series of similar incidents in the region, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation as the investigation into the attack unfolds.

The ongoing unrest in the West Bank has led to concerns about escalating violence, with clashes frequently erupting between Israeli forces and Palestinian protesters.

The IDF has not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect, and no further details have been provided regarding the nature of the vehicle used in the car-ramming attack.

Security officials have stated that additional security measures will be implemented in the area to prevent further incidents.

As the investigation continues, the focus remains on understanding the circumstances surrounding the attack, as well as any potential links to broader terrorist networks operating in the West Bank.
