The Kfir Brigade’s combat team, operating under Division 162, has been relentlessly advancing operations in the northern Gaza areas of Jabalya and Beit Lahiya for the past two weeks, making significant strides in neutralizing dozens of terrorists and dismantling over 100 terror infrastructures, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Thursday.
According to Colonel Yaniv Barot, the brigade’s commander, the operation is part of a broader mission that has spanned more than a year.
“For over a year, the brigade has been engaged in intense combat across multiple fronts: the West Bank, Lebanon, and Gaza,” said Barot. He called the current campaign “the most important task of our lives, in the most just war since the founding of the State of Israel.”
Barot emphasized the brigade’s mission to remove ongoing threats to Israeli citizens, describing their objectives as pivotal to the security of the nation.
“We are here to neutralize terrorists, destroy terror infrastructures, and confiscate weapons that will no longer harm the citizens of Israel,” he stated.
The Kfir Brigade’s focus in Gaza has been on the elimination of terrorist cells and the destruction of their strongholds, which are being used to carry out deadly attacks against Israeli civilians. Barot, addressing the losses sustained by his forces, acknowledged the emotional toll the battle has taken.
“I see in your eyes the pain over comrades who have fallen, our brothers, alongside the spark and determination to fight for our home,” Barot said, bolstering the resolve of his troops.
The brigade’s current operations are aimed at bringing hostages back to safety, ensuring the return of residents to the Gaza envelope, and providing security to those living under the constant threat of terror. “We will continue fighting until the mission is complete,” Barot affirmed.
A key unit within the Kfir Brigade, the Nahshon Battalion, has been at the forefront of operations in Gaza’s northern regions, executing the mission with precision.
Major Israel Benafraj, the battalion’s deputy commander, detailed the relentless nature of the fighting, with forces engaging terrorists in close combat, both on the ground and from the air.
“We have eliminated dozens of terrorists and destroyed a number of terror infrastructures,” Benafraj said, describing the confrontations as direct and intense.
The Nahshon Battalion has become one of the leading forces in the ongoing conflict in Gaza, where the IDF continues to make strategic progress despite fierce opposition.
Benafraj emphasized the battalion’s unwavering commitment to the task at hand: “We will not stop fighting against the terrorist organization in Gaza until the mission is accomplished.”
The ongoing operations in Gaza remain a focal point of Israel’s defense strategy, with the Kfir Brigade and other IDF units working to ensure that the threats to Israeli security are eliminated and the safety of citizens is secured.
As the situation continues to evolve, the IDF remains determined to achieve its objectives, despite the high costs of war.
