The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported ongoing operational activities on Friday targeting missile and rocket launch sites in both Gaza and southern Lebanon.

The military’s efforts aim to dismantle threats to Israel’s security while adhering to existing ceasefire agreements.

In southern Lebanon, soldiers from the 769th Brigade uncovered a significant weapons cache in the dense, mountainous terrain.

Among the items discovered were concealed Kornet missile launchers, AK-47 rifles, ammunition magazines, and other military equipment.

The IDF also reported the discovery of an anti-tank missile launch site used by Hezbollah to target Israeli communities in the Upper Galilee region.

Footage released by the IDF showed the weapons recovered during this operation, highlighting the scale and scope of the military’s efforts to eliminate Hezbollah’s offensive capabilities.

Additionally, the operation uncovered a separate cache containing RPG missiles and mortar shells, further underscoring the extent of the Hezbollah presence in the region.

The IDF emphasized that its operations in Lebanon are in line with the ongoing ceasefire agreement, though it remains committed to removing any threats posed by Hezbollah to Israeli citizens.

The brigade is expected to remain deployed in southern Lebanon to ensure continued security. In Gaza, the IDF also reported significant progress in dismantling military infrastructure used by Palestinian militants.

The focus of operations has been on underground rocket launch sites, particularly in Beit Lahia. The IDF discovered three multi-barrel rocket launchers, each loaded with rockets and other weaponry, in these hidden locations.

These launchers had the potential to launch attacks on Israeli territories, making their destruction a priority for the military.

In Rafah, IDF troops located tunnel shafts used by militants to transport weapons and personnel.

In a related operation, the IDF eliminated a terrorist cell that had approached their position, striking it with airstrikes from the Israeli Air Force (IAF).

The military’s continued efforts in Gaza are aimed at neutralizing the remaining terrorist infrastructure and preventing future rocket attacks.

Meanwhile, developments in neighboring Syria have prompted the IDF to strengthen its presence in strategic areas.

In response to the growing security situation in Syria, particularly along the Golan Heights, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued orders to Israeli troops to prepare for an extended winter deployment on Mount Hermon.

The peak, which overlooks the Syrian capital of Damascus, holds significant strategic importance.

“Due to what is happening in Syria, there is enormous security importance to our holding on to the peak of Mount Hermon,” Minister Katz said in a statement.

The deployment is part of a broader strategy to maintain control over key locations in the region, ensuring Israel’s security amid ongoing instability in Syria.

As the IDF continues its operations, both in Gaza and southern Lebanon, the military’s primary objective remains clear: to dismantle hostile military infrastructure, eliminate terrorist cells, and ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.

Despite the ceasefire agreements, the IDF’s proactive stance underscores the complexity of the security challenges Israel faces in the region.
