The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) closed off the entrance to the town of Beita, located near the West Bank city of Nablus, on Thursday morning following a series of escalating security incidents.
Troops were deployed to the area after an explosive device, suspected to be an IED, severely injured an IDF reserve soldier on Wednesday.
The soldier, a member of Battalion 9221 from the Ephraim Brigade, was critically wounded in the explosion and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The IDF has confirmed that his family has been notified, and authorities are now intensifying efforts to locate those responsible for the attack.
