Israeli singer-songwriter Yuval Raphael has released the video for her new single “Amber Skies”, the official theme for Yes’s acclaimed television series One Day in October. The emotionally charged release comes just days before Raphael’s first-ever concert as a headliner, set for November 1 at the Tel Aviv Amphitheater.

The series One Day in October, now streaming internationally on HBO Max, recounts powerful real-life stories of heroism and survival from the October 7 Hamas attacks. Created by Oded Davidoff and Daniel Finkelman, the anthology highlights individuals whose courage defined one of Israel’s darkest days.

Among the stories featured are those of Aya Meydan, a Kibbutz Be’eri resident saved by Bedouins; Inbal Rabin-Lieberman, who led her kibbutz’s defense squad; Sabine Tassa, who lost her husband and eldest son; the Golan-Hogeg family from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, who survived after terrorists torched their home; and Omer Shem Tov, held captive in Gaza for 505 days.

The “Amber Skies” video interweaves Raphael’s haunting performance—filmed in a dim, desolate landscape—with authentic clips and scenes from the series. The visuals mirror the song’s themes of memory, loss, and renewal.

For Raphael, performing the song carries deep personal meaning. She survived the Nova Music Festival massacre, where she hid in a bomb shelter with dozens of others. Of roughly 50 people inside, only 11 survived. Her connection to the tragedy has made her one of the most poignant musical voices to emerge from the post-October 7 generation.

The song was composed, arranged, and produced by Tomer Biran, who also produced Raphael’s Eurovision track New Day Will Rise by Keren Peles, while Isabella Brodie penned the lyrics. Together, they crafted a piece that bridges grief and strength—reflecting both personal and national resilience.

Raphael rose to international fame after representing Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel this year, where she won the popular vote and finished second overall. Her emotionally raw performance resonated across Europe, cementing her status as one of Israel’s most promising young artists.

In the lead-up to her Tel Aviv concert, Raphael has also launched a new EP titled 22:22, featuring three original songs whose videos have already garnered nearly a million views online.

Her upcoming show, produced by Amos Ben David, promises to be a highly personal journey through her life and artistry. Ben David has been a long-time collaborator since Raphael’s victory on The Next Star for Eurovision, Israel’s national selection competition.

Speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Raphael described the upcoming performance as “a very special show” that blends “sadness and joy, optimism and pain.” She added, “I see it as an hour and a half of a message—a journey. I’m pouring my heart and soul into it.”

For fans and followers of her music, Amber Skies and the Tel Aviv concert mark not only a career milestone but also a moment of collective remembrance and hope.
