A man in his mid-30s was critically injured on Tuesday evening after being struck by a train at Tel Aviv’s Savidor Central Station, Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed.

MDA paramedics were dispatched to the scene, where they found the man unconscious and suffering from severe injuries. Emergency teams provided life-saving treatment before transferring him to Sourasky Medical Center’s Ichilov Hospital in serious and unstable condition.

According to MDA, the man is currently on a ventilator and remains unconscious. “We arrived quickly and began resuscitation efforts while stabilizing the patient,” said one of the paramedics involved in the response.

Authorities have not yet determined whether the incident was an accident or a possible suicide attempt. Police units and Israel Railways officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the event, with witnesses being questioned at the scene.

Rail operations in the area were temporarily delayed as emergency crews worked to clear the track and secure the scene. Train service later resumed, though officials have not released additional details about the investigation.

This is not the first such incident to occur at an Israeli train station in recent months. In September, a man in his 50s was killed after being struck by a train at Wolfson Station in Holon. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene after finding no signs of life.

Similarly, in 2023, a soldier lost his life at Netanya Station after reportedly losing consciousness on the platform before being hit by a passing train.

Rail safety and mental health awareness have been recurring issues in Israel, particularly as train usage increases across major cities. Authorities continue to emphasize vigilance near tracks and platforms, while mental health organizations urge better access to crisis support for those in distress.

As of Tuesday night, the man remains hospitalized in critical condition, with doctors at Ichilov Hospital fighting to stabilize him. Investigators are expected to release further details as the case develops.
