Israeli singer and producer Noga Erez has revealed that she is facing an international boycott, with several scheduled concerts and festival appearances being abruptly cancelled.

In a video post shared on her Instagram on Thursday, Erez expressed her frustration over the cancellations, which she attributes to her Israeli nationality, rather than any personal statements or actions she has made.

“It’s not for anything that I said, it’s simply because I was born where I was born,” Erez stated, adding that the list of cancelled events “kind of keeps growing.”

The 34-year-old artist emphasized that she believes boycotting artists will not resolve the complex issues at the heart of the ongoing global conflict.

“I believe that banning songs, movies, plays, books, etc., is not going to fix the world’s problems,” she explained.

Erez, who is currently seven months pregnant, has been vocal about her views on peace and understanding in a time of heightened tensions. Despite facing adversity in her career, she continues to advocate for unity, stating, “The world is full of so much suffering.

The amount of pain happening right now is devastating. I’ve seen some of it with my own eyes. Maybe right now would be the best time for us to try and find common ground, and not add to how shi**y it already is.”

The singer’s comments come as part of a broader international conversation about the role of cultural figures during times of political and social unrest.

In recent years, the boycott of Israeli artists has gained attention, often spurred by the political climate in the Middle East.

Erez’s remarks highlight the personal toll these boycotts can take on individual artists who believe that their music should transcend political boundaries.

Erez, known for her electronic pop sound, recently performed with American pop star Pink during a Southern US tour. Despite the cancellation of several of her own shows, Erez continues to be active in the global music scene.

Her third album, The Vandalist, was released in September after being delayed nearly a year due to the tragic events of October 7, 2023.

Her message on social media resonated with fans worldwide, many of whom expressed their support and solidarity.

While boycotts targeting cultural figures often spark intense debates, Erez’s call for dialogue and peace comes at a time when the global community is seeking solutions to complex issues.

The situation is emblematic of the larger tension between art and politics, with artists often caught in the crossfire of global political debates.

For Erez, however, the goal remains simple: to create music that connects people, regardless of their background or nationality.

As the conversation continues, many are left wondering if the boycott of artists can ever truly foster meaningful change, or if it only deepens divides.

Erez’s experience raises important questions about the intersection of politics and creativity in today’s polarized world.

Her stance on the issue is a reminder of the human side of the ongoing cultural conflicts, where individuals like Erez are navigating the complex and often painful consequences of political divides.
